How Do I Get To Jamboree?
Jamboree is at Mt Keira Scout Camp, nestled in the rainforest escarpment above Wollongong CBD and a 15 min drive from Wollongong Train Station.
It is approx 1hr 15min drive from Sydney CBD Access to the Camp is through a private road leading off Mt Keira Road, and the usual means of reaching the Camp is to leave the F6 Freeway from Sydney at the Figtree Exit (Southbound), turn left briefly towards Wollongong from the Freeway Exit, and then left up Mt Keira Road.
The Camp is 4.7 km beyond the Mt Keira Post Office/General Store. The Camp may also be reached from the Goulburn-Sydney Freeway (Hume Highway 31) by departing the Freeway at the Wollongong Exit, and turning off the Picton-Wollongong Road (88) at the Mt Keira Exit. The entrance to the Camp is 1.0 km past the Mt Keira Summit Exit. If you are coming by train, you can catch a taxi from Wollongong Train Station.

When Will The Full Program be available? We will be making Program announcements gradually over the next few months. The program will include some longer intensive workshops on Saturday, some optional all-in amazement, plus a program of half day Sunday workshops.
We will be bringing you exceptional teaching artists to give you a pretty great time. Check out what happened last year to get an idea.
How Can I Make Sure I Get To Do The Workshops I Want?
Closer to the event you will receive a link to register your workshop preferences. We will guarantee that you will get AT LEAST two of your four top preferences.
Most of the time, you will be able to do all the workshops you prefer, provided they are not on at the same time!
Places are capped for each one so that it is a rewarding experience for all involved. The weekend program is designed to be a whole package, and all of the workshops on offer are of equal standard, value and with a really superb teacher at the helm. Trust us on that. While we know you will get super excited at the program and workshop list, we suggest you don’t come with the whole weekend resting on one particular workshop.
I’m not creative/arty and have never done something like this before.
No worries! This is the perfect getaway for you then. No experience required, just a curiousity and willingness to give things a go. Workshops are designed for beginners up to experienced and it is a friendly space to just try things out. Promise.
Can I leave Jamboree during the weekend?
Of course! You are free to come and go as you please. North Wollongong beach is a handy 10 minute drive away. BUT, we do say that getting in the car and driving into traffic MAY dilute the lovely, relaxed, immersive feeling of being tucked away in the forest, forgetting traffic rules, email logins, work deadlines and other busy things. So gently suggest that you try not to.
Can I bring my kids? They would love it!
I’m sure they would. But, you know, Jamboree is a place to ESCAPE. It is a camp for grown ups, a getaway for adults to immerse in peaceful creativity and fun. We love kids, really, but this is not an event for them.
I really need Real Coffee. Will there be Real Coffee?
Yes! We know how important coffee is to start the day. Our friends at Wollongong social enterprise Honest Coffee will have their mobile coffee bar set up each morning, and Jamboree provides a complimentary fresh espresso both mornings. If your habit is a bit more intense than that, you are welcome to purchase from the Honest Coffee folk, or enjoy some plunger coffee at the tea and coffee station in the kitchen.
What about alcohol? Great question! You will be able to BYO alcohol. Yep. Please don’t bring a keg of beer. Be sensible, but fun. You know? There will be red wine available to buy when you arrive through drink tickets in the shop. I am vegetarian /gluten intolerant / allergic to…
You can tell us more about this when you buy your ticket. If you have any concerns please shoot us an email on email@example.com
Can I pay my ticket in installments? There is the option to pay a $150 deposit and then the remainder of your ticket in two following payments. Please note that the Earlybird ticket price is not available for this option. Simply choose the Deposit ticket option and then send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
I want to share a dorm with my mates! Sure! No problem, there is an option to name peeps you want to glamp/bunk/ or camp with when you book your ticket.
Can I just come for one day?
Nope. Sorry. This event is designed to be a getaway, an escape and to TRULY escape you need to lose time, spend time and bunk in for the whole shebang. Trust us. It will be worth it.
I want to know everything!
We know. And understand! But surprises are nice. And we want to keep some things up our sleeves. We can tell you a few nice things now… like…. 1. All of our toilet paper is provided by the lovely folks at Who Gives a Crap! And you will get a pretty roll to take home. 2. There will be a wee bag of goodies. For each and every one of you. 4. It is almost CERTAIN that you will see a Lyrebird at Jamboree. They love it here!
